What is Radon and Should I Have my Home Tested?
The Surgeon General and the EPA has warned that Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States, second only to smoking.
Radon is a colorless odorless gas that is released from the decay of uranium, which is found in most rock and soil.
The EPA & the State of Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation recommends that every home be tested for Radon. For more information refer to the EPA's guide, The Home Buyer's and Seller's Guide to Radon and/or A Citizen's Guide to Radon.
As an additional service we can test the level of radon gas in the home you are planning to buy or sell . We use the top testing device available today to measure the radon levels, a Femto-tech continuous radon monitor. We were trained by Auburn University's Radon Proficiency Program and certified by the National Environmental Health Association to perform radon gas measurements.
